Voting was unobstructed—smooth, hassle-free, and efficient—for us in 2018, as it has been in previous years, too. We'd enough polling machines and personnel. (Thanks to the volunteers and staff who worked the polling stations.) I wish everyone's voting experience was similar to what we enjoyed. It should be. It's jacked up that citizens have to overcome voting obstacles in addition to all the other roadblocks in life. Honestly, it's just fucking whack-o to me.

And I am sure Neil Gaiman voted—if not in the U.S. then in the UK, in their last election. If you're a fan of his, you should ask him... directly.
I mean he's awfully busy encouraging others to vote on election day (Nov '18), all while plugging his wares.
You know there was a guy in an office I once worked at. He talked about himself all the time. He also liked to remind people that other people talked about him. Always puffing himself up. I thought it rude and narcissistic behaviour. But I never said anything. Actually, I started thinking less of myself because I thought I was being petty and small and not being tolerant enough. Meanwhile this guy just went on and on about himself. I wish this story was fiction. It's not. As it happens I smoked cigarettes back then. One day I went to the area designated for smokers and I overheard other people complaining about this same guy—how he always talked about himself and how he always dropped reminders that other people were talking about him too and how he was "on the way up." I felt relieved I was not alone in noticing his behaviour. I immediately stopped feeling bad about myself... feeling as though I was a lesser person because I found this guy's narcissism intolerable. It was intolerable. Others saw this same boorish behaviour and were turned off by it as well. Only they had the courage to say something—even if not to the guy, at least to one another. I had felt alone for no reason.
Anyway, Neil Gaiman's twitter feed always reminds me of that guy—that life experience.
