Hey Hollywood. How's it going? Things looking up again? Your profitability okay? Paying authors whose works you've acquired through the many acquisitions done as the media industry consolidates evermore until, like the Highlander, there can be only one entertainment firm: The Soulless Reboot & Superhero Wunderkamp Co?

Listen, I have an idea. I don't think it's a particularly great idea. But it's not horrible either. Definitely better than some of the shit you all arrange financing for and distribute. Ready... here it is...

BOOSTERS: a road-trip film like ROLLING KANSAS only it's about the adventures and misadventures of fans of a fast-food item who are trying to locate a mythologized health clinic rumored to offer vaccination booster shots that'll alleviate their emotional & psychological discomforts during the 11-month period a national fast food corporation removes its processed pork patty from the menu. 

You should think hard about it, Hollywood. And not just because I happen to enjoy processed pork patties. Which is ironic, given that my father-in-law (may he RIP), for decades, co-owned and operated one of the world's most famous and iconic barbeque restaurants; the kind of old school joint where Hollywood folks, politicians, famous musicians and world-class athletes visit when in KC. And while the place he co-owned had been — since my childhood, way before I'd met his eldest daughter — my favorite BBQ joint, my tolerance and acceptance of inexpensive processed pork patties was a point of contention and argument during the holidays. But my father-in-law's dead now — SO IT GOES — and I'm free to flaunt my perverse culinary affections during family get-togethers.

Anyway, this is slow pitch, like it says in the blog's title. I've told you that; been upfront about it. I hate the game (baseball too). Slow (and ridiculous) is the only speed I am willing to play it.
