Today's time-limited writing exercise. More Than Literalby Geoffrey Allison I am a beneficiary unexpectantly inheriting the treasures of time passing and applied thought. These yield realizations. An understanding as to why so many books I read this year and TV shows watched, content I'd initially thought interesting or important or "good," have waned after probing consciousness critically — and too, perhaps, through continual subconscious ruminations, the hummingbird always gathering in the mind's backyard. Untethered now to wan things of unsubstantiated worth, another's cause I'd assigned too much weight and had temporarily anchored enthusiasm, this morning's sunrise — more than literal — rises . . . glorious. unedited

This page contains select free-to-read poems and flash fictions, or what I refer to as my Short Shorts.
